What is group insurance?

Group insurance is a health care coverage plan in which individual employees or members are included under a policy that is purchased by their employers. Group insurance may be provided by businesses, unions, and churches for members and dependents. In the state of Missouri, employers are required to pay at least 50% of the employees health insurance premium but some employers choose to pay more as an added employee benefit and some even pay for all or a portion of the employees dependents premium.
